Nancy Jo Thomason was born in Columbia, where her father, Glenn W. Thomason, was finishing law school. Her family returned to Anderson when Nancy Jo was still a toddler. She grew up here and attended Anderson County Public Schools. Nancy Jo had a passion for the legal profession at a young age. She grew up in the legal community in Anderson watching her father and other lawyers try cases. Her legal education really started long before even graduating high school.
After obtaining a BA in Journalism, from the University of South Carolina, Nancy Jo earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina, School of Law.
Other than a year in the Greenville Solicitor’s office, Nancy Jo has been in private practice in Anderson, representing people involved in family law litigation, applying for Social Security benefits, facing pending criminal charges, and needing help with personal injury cases.
Nancy Jo not only has been representing clients for over twenty-five years, but she also has a strong commitment to the Anderson community. She has served on several boards and volunteered to help many local organizations. Additionally, she is an active member of the Anderson County Bar and South Carolina Bar. She works with legal committees on the state level to improve the practice of law and the experience for clients.
